5-The Shapes of Jeju
To visualize the wisdom of the Jeju people, Heejoon Lee drew inspiration from the island’s traditional buildings and clothing. The color of this work is derived from “garot,” a type of Jeju clothing that is dyed with local persimmons, while the forms are based on satellite photos of Jeju fortresses and other structures, such as sandam, wondam, and bulteok.
