1-pleasure of life
Many Jeju towns featured a horse mill, where a horse turned a large stone wheel that was used to grind grains. Inspired by this simple organic mechanism, Noh Hae Yul produced this kinetic artwork that rotates in the wind. His goal was to capture the joy that Jeju people must have felt when milling their harvest at the end of a strenuous year of farming.
