6-Not so Much Seen as Heard
The production of Toh´s work necessitates repetitions of the following processes: the applying of oil paint onto canvas; the meticulous drawing with pencils; then, the varnishing over it. In REVERSCAPE where the matters regarding the element of space are inquired into, her work renders an archetype of space that is not yet concretized. Like a fossil, which represents an accumulation of a long period of time, Toh´s actions amassed in layers in her canvas indicates her interest in the prototype of nature, in other words, the original landscape of nature.
