Over the course of his three-decade-long career, Kim´s art has continued to focus on the subject matters of communication and memory. The surfaces of the old bricks made around 1910 are inundated with the fragments of his personal memories such as the names of his acquaintances and the representations of what he had felt. Attempts to dialogue with viewers are constantly made by Kim´s work that embodies his artistic concern for the fundamental characteristics of communication and memory that are the offspring of the relationship between `I´ and others.
